Yoga simply translates to union. Union of the body and mind is achieved through practice of breathing, physical postures, relaxation and meditation.
Yoga is a physical and mental practice which promotes health and well-being of the mind, body and soul. With regular practise, one can prevent disease by rejuvenating every cell of the body and cultivate a peaceful mind thus reducing stress which can lead to anxiety, depression and physical illness.
Yoga with Kali incorporates mindfulness with an emphasis on breath and energy awareness to assist ‘going within’ to draw out the gold from your practice. Kali’s themed classes are carefully pieced together using asana, pranayama and mantra to cultivate a deep connection with your inner being through both dynamic and slow reflective practice to encourage a more spiritual experience.
“The saying goes………’The mind is willing but…….the body isn’t’. As you age you realise how true this is. Starting yoga this year has definitely improved my posture, I’m walking more upright and have mare awareness of how my body works and moves. My flexibility has improved and I’m enjoying the challenges yoga brings me. Kali always encourages you to work within your own bodies limits so you start to know yourself and when to push harder and when you are as far as you can go until next time.
Yoga with Kali also gives me the space to breath and have time for myself. In today’s busy world time for self is very precious, I now treasure that ‘me time’.
The saying will now be…….’the mind is willing ……..and the body is willing to give it a go.”
“I was introduced to Yoga a short while ago at the tender age of 53. After years with back trouble and more recently asthma, the difference it has made to my breathing and flexibility in such a short time is amazing. I still get a bit stressed with work but after a Class with Kali the stress is a distant memory. It also give me a good workout twice a week that I would’nt normally have in the most secluded and tranquil surroundings. Thank you Kali”
